About Me

In this section I will tell you a bit about myself and the work that I have recently completed

I have been working as a Sports and Press photographer for over one year now, I started off on my own initiative working at small GAA games and working my way up. As my skills grew so did my pile of credentials, I have now started to capture the Danske Bank Premiership and spent the 2012/13 season following league winners Cliftonville. Though this opportunity handed to me by the IFA I was able to successfully establish my self as a photographer selling images to a range of media outlets including Sky Sports.

I cover quite a lot of press events in Northern Ireland for the local and national papers, the majority of the events that I attend are breaking news such as a security alert or Pre-arranged protests. I cover a range of Entertainment events in Northern Ireland and have worked on behalf of a number of magazines publishing photos from music events. Many of these events are featured by professional singers and dancers. I am comfortable covering any type of event so much so I recently covered a charity event for testicular cancer that I walked ten miles taking pictures of participants dressed as testicles!

Whilst at events I endeavour to better myself, im am a quite confident photographer who aspires to capture any assignment to the best of my ability. Each event that I cover is of a different calibre and I treat all assignments very seriously, sometimes I may not have the correct equipment for an event however I do go out of my own way to tailor your needs by renting the extra equipment that I may require, I enjoy using new equipment as well as the equipment that I possess as it enables me to explore different aspects of photography. Through my experience I have worked alongside some of Northern Irelands most talented photographers and through looking at their work and techniques I have learned how to conduct myself in certain situations as well as pick up some tips along the way. If your looking for a fun, friendly and affordable photographer I'm the guy for the job !

My Favourite Assignments

2013 – Barack Obama and Michelle Obama visit Belfast

This is an event that I will never forget, after being accredited to cover the event I was extremely excited. The day started off early with a 5 AM start, I arrived at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast at 7AM to go through security checks, after we passed the checks I moved into the hall to prepare my equipment, It was quite a wait until Barack and Michelle arrived in the building, Michelle spoke first before introducing Husband Barack Obama. We had the opportunity to photograph them both on stage as well as each individually. It is one of the Photo Assignments that I will never forget!

2013 – St Patrick's Day Belfast City Center

This was a strange assignment for me as first I was required to photograph the parade then next I was required to move onto a concert, I was unsure of the equiptment that I would need so I took everything with me meaning I had to lug around approximately 13kg of equipment all day however it wasn't long before I was in my stride and the photos started to flood out to the paper. The atmosphere at the event was someting that I had not experienced before and the good spirits of the fans helped me carry out my job much easier.

My Equipment

I have a range of equipment that I use on a day to day baises however I have equipment for specific events.

I have a range of equipment that includes DSLR cameras right the way through to remote triggers, the equipment that I use is all fully serviced and fully reliable.
However on some occasions I don't have the correct equipment however in this case I simply rent the equipment from another firm for the amount of time that is needed.
